For Children

Children are a gift from God, and a blessing to our congregation! Jesus welcomes children and gives them a central place in his kingdom (Psalm 127:3, Mark 10:13–14).

In Children’s Ministry, our mission is to build Christ’s kingdom by discipling children into young adults who treasure Christ, who delight in and study His word, and who love and serve His Church. We desire that they will never remember a day without Christ as their Savior. We minister to the youngest members of our congregation through discipleship, education, and relationship. We believe that, guided by Scripture, we can fulfill the vows which we take upon a child’s baptism and can teach them in a Biblically faithful manner, both formally and informally.

We love to see children of all ages in our worship service! We welcome their wiggle and chatter. We desire to support parents shepherding their young charges in faithful corporate worship of our great God. As you take a bulletin on your way into the sanctuary, you can also pick up a children’s page, as well as additional blank paper and crayons. Please sit wherever you are most comfortable.

We do offer a volunteer-staffed nursery for little ones ages 0-2. Parents are welcome to use the diaper changing table and supplies in the nursery even if not dropping off their child, and you are welcome to stay and play with your child in the nursery as well.

Every other week during the school year, children aged 3 through kindergarten are welcome to attend our Children’s Training Time during the sermon. This time is meant to aid these children in their understanding of who God is, what He says in His Word, and how we may worship Him. In the 2024-25 year, we are using the Show Me Jesus curriculum put out by Great Commission Publications.

Elementary students meet together about once a month during the school year on Sunday evenings to learn and fellowship together. In the 2024-25 year, we are teaching lessons based on the Teach Me To Worship curriculum put out by Great Commission Publications.

All our ministry programs are fully staffed by known, trusted, and trained regular attenders of Christ Church Ann Arbor who have agreed to adhere to our Child Protection Policy.
