Jeremy (Pastor)

Jeremy was born and raised in the Metro-Detroit area and raised in a Christian home, and from an early age had a strong desire to serve Christ and his kingdom. Jeremy met his wife Heather as a student at a small Bible college in North Carolina. After graduation in 2001, now married and blessed with three boys (Robert, Zacharias, and Haddon), moved to Mar del Plata, Argentina to serve as church planting missionaries. There Jeremy and Heather participated in a variety of ministry roles, from pastoral to outreach and teaching. After four years serving Christ in South America, they moved back to the Detroit area with a heart and desire see a new church planted in the heart of the city. Before coming to Christ Church Ann Arbor, Jeremy and family helped plant Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Detroit. He loves spending time with his wife and kids, riding his bike around the city, and cheering on the Wolverines!

Robert (Campus Pastor)

robert.knuth@ruf.org

Robert grew up along the coast of Virginia Beach, VA where he developed such a love for his native state that he decided to attend Washington and Lee University. He graduated from W&L in May of 2014 with a BA in Religion and German. Most importantly though (thanks to RUF), he carried with him a new-found love for the person and work of Jesus Christ.

From 2014-2016, he served for two years as a RUF intern at the University of Georgia. It was during the internship that he met his wife, Katherine, who also served as a RUF intern. Even though she attended Wake Forest University during her undergraduate years, Katherine originally hails from Leland, MI.

Upon graduation from Reformed Theological Seminary at Charlotte in 2019 with a Masters of Divinity degree, Robert planted RUF at Michigan in the Fall of 2019. He was officially ordained in March 2020 as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

When he is not on campus, you’ll most likely find him taking his son, Peter (July 2018) and/or his daughter, Abigail (December 2019), for a walk in the park. He will find any excuse to play the board game “Settlers of Catan” with friends, or especially on nice days, explore downtown Ann Arbor with Katherine. Go Blue!

Christina (Intern)

Originally from Blacksburg, Virginia, Christina has been living in Michigan for the past five years—first in Grand Rapids where she went to Calvin University to study History, Data Science, and Graphic Design. Then, after graduating in 2019, she moved to Ann Arbor for a year-long job opportunity. Shortly after arriving in town, Christina met Robert and Katherine. They quickly bonded over being new in town and their shared Virginia roots. With Robert and Katherine’s infectious enthusiasm about the new RUF chapter at Michigan and Christina’s own love for student ministry she became excited about the vision and began to pitch in where she could. After volunteering for a year, giving rides and meeting with students here and there, Christina is now joining RUF at Michigan full time as an intern. She’s looking forward to connecting with students and helping to build a welcoming Christian community at the University of Michigan. In her free time, Christina enjoys doodling, improv comedy, hosting pancake parties, and watching obscure sports.
